VKC:  Tell us a bit about yourself and your shop.
OliversPaperie:  I am a single momma to a precious little boy named Oliver (who would've guessed!).  Oliver is the love of my life and the inspiration for both of my etsy shops.  It is my mission to find him cool vintage clothes to wear.  I spend a lot of time at thrift stores and estate sales and do my best to bring you the best vintage pieces to choose from.  I opened my original Etsy shop, OliversForest in 2011 which features vintage baby & children's clothing, toys and books.  And recently opened my second Etsy shop, OliversPaperie which features vintage paper goods.  My 'real' job is in dental hygiene, a career I have been in for 12 years.  I consider myself very fortunate to have a career that I love.

VKC:  Why are you drawn to vintage?
OliversPaperie:  I am drawn to the craftsmanship of vintage pieces.  Back in the day when actual people hand crafted items instead of being mass produced by machines.  I love the simplicity of vintage toys.  No batteries, no noise.  Just your imagination is needed.  I am also really drawn to the graphics on vintage paper products.  Vintage cards, invitations and wrapping paper all make my heart race.

VKC :  Where do you find your treasures?
OliversPaperie:  Thrift stores and estate sales.

VKC:  What is your process when creating/working?
OliversPaperie:  Unfortunately between my career in dental hygiene and being a single momma, I don't have as much time as I would like to devote to my shops.  I tend to take photographs of my items in large batches.  I edit photos in the evening when Oliver is sleeping.  I usually post the items on Etsy in large batches as well.

VKC:  How do you promote your business?
OliversPaperie:  Thru facebook and my blog.  I also belong to a few Etsy teams and we all work together to promote each others shops!

VKC :  What do you do when you are not creating/working?
OliversPaperie:  Because Oliver is an only child, I try really hard to get him out and about on playdates and activities to get him around other kiddos.  Oliver is now in soccer and swim classes so that takes up a lot of our time as well.  In the little bit of free time I have, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends & family and of course thrifting.

VKC:  What is your favorite item in your shop or that you have sold and why?
OliversPaperie:  So far my favorite item that has sold is a set of 'Penny Post Cards'.  I love the cheery little girl!  Who wouldn't want to get this postcard in the mail!?!

VKC:  How do you juggle your business and your personal life/motherhood?
OliversPaperie:  This is hard and I would have to say I don't have nearly the time that I would like to devote to Etsy.  I just do what I can and figure someday I will have more time to make this little business grow even bigger.  But, for now I'm happy with the success I have had!
